Voice People Jogja: Nourishing Voices and Brotherhood

On September 1, 2024, Seruniaudio proudly participated in the Voice Pople Jogja event in Lor Awor. After the previous day, August 31, 2024, gathering voice-over (VO) practitioners and enthusiasts from various circles to inaugurate the Voice People Jogja community while learning and deepening their skills through a series of workshops.

The main workshop carried the Intermediate Voice Over Skill theme and was guided by two experienced VO practitioners, Bimoky and Bintha from Voice Institute Indonesia. This session discussed intermediate voice-over techniques that highlighted intonation control, deeper voice expressions, and how to convey messages with the right emotions. Bimoky and Bintha also shared important tips on recording performance, helping participants to be more confident and skilled in using their voices in various VO projects.

Not only about voice-over skills, participants also got the opportunity to attend a workshop from Seruniaudio entitled Microphone Fundamental: Great Choice, Great Voice. In this session, we shared how to choose a microphone that suits their recording needs. Microphone selection is a key factor in determining sound quality, and Seruniaudio shared important guidance on how to recognize the characteristics of the ideal microphone for various recording situations. The goal is to help participants understand that the right microphone can improve sound quality and make their VO performance more optimal.

After the workshop session, the event continued with a hands-on practice where Bimoky and Bintha guided participants in a VO recording session. Here, participants not only learned theory, but also gained hands-on experience in recording with the guidance of professionals. They were able to apply the techniques they had learned, from using intonation to choosing the most suitable microphone for their voice.

Here are some results from our friends from Voice People Jogja during recording sessions using the MKS-14 microphone:

Voice Pople Jogja becomes a place for VO activists to gather, learn, and share experiences. With various educational and practical sessions, this event successfully presents an interactive and productive atmosphere, while opening up new opportunities for those who want to be more serious about the world of voice-over.
