Are you familiar with the Diplomat Success Challenge (DSC)? DSC is an entrepreneurial competition that allows Indonesian entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas through startup grants, mentorship, and access to the Diplomat Entrepreneur Network (DEN) alumni community.
Seruniaudio is a 2015 DSC alumnus and part of the Diplomat Entrepreneur Network (DEN). Thanks to DSC, we have been entrusted with managing the audio needs for this program since 2020. Collaborating with Sure Picture, we exchange information about their audio requirements, covering technical aspects, properties, and post-production.
This program consists of several stages, each requiring precise audio handling. From the kick-off, National Selection, Bootcamp, Battle Round, Final Pitch, to the Award Night or Inauguration, every phase presents unique challenges for the Audio and Visual teams. Within a limited timeframe, we must make the right choices regarding equipment and technical execution to ensure everything runs as planned.
Microphones such as the SEM-02 and MKS-14 play a vital role in each stage of the program. For low-profile microphone needs, we use the SEM-02 paired with the ALC01 as a lavalier microphone. Meanwhile, for door-stop interviews, we rely on the MKS-14 in combination with the RODELink as a wireless condenser microphone.
During the Battle Round session, which requires field-recording audio techniques, we use the SEM-02 microphone with the ACS23-M , connected to the Sennheiser EW100 G4 wireless system.
Of course, we fully support the existence of DSC, as it has nurtured and sustained the entrepreneurial and business ecosystem in Indonesia while showcasing local products on the international stage.
